Hello friend!
I hated November 22. It got darker and darker every day. And I honestly CAN’T BEAR Christmas in November. It really winds me up. To the point where, although I’ve never seen the film The Grinch, I fear that as the years go by I’m turning into him/her/it/them (No idea. Never seen it.)
So anyway, this November we booked a 16 night jolly holiday to escape. It was bloody fabulous!
[In case you’re interested we flew to Lisbon, boarded a massive ship and sailed across the Atlantic to New York. We stopped off at Madeira and Bermuda on the way but the planned stops in the Azores were thwarted by a massive storm and we had to sail south to avoid it… so now we’ll have to book another trip cos we really wanted to go.]
Transportation used on our travels:
I thought that having 12 days on a ship with hardly any wifi would be a great time to try and improve my relationship with Procreate. (It annoys me.) But it turned out there were more interesting things to do so I just drew some flowers - which I made into a pattern in Illustrator when we got home…
… And I drew Madeira - which annoyed me cos it’s such a pain to move stuff about in Procreate.
So the team building thing with Procreate was a big fail I’m afraid and I’ll be sticking with my trusty friend Adobe Illustrator for the foreseeable.
We disembarked the big ship and spent 4 days in New York, which was fabulous. I’ve been to NYC loads of times but this was my first visit on vacation, and the other half’s first visit ever, so we really touristed it up to the max.
Sadly I didn’t have the foresight to book a full month away so we returned to the dark and cold in time for me to still get irritated by the cold weather and the over-enthusiastic premature Christmas nutters.
A couple of sketchbook bits turned into colour illos…
And that’s it for November.
I’ve let the Christmas Police go now so feel free to get all festive without fear of being arrested, and have a lovely December.
See you next year!
Dawn x
Sounds like a fabulous vacation!
