Hello NEW newsletter!
I’ve been meaning to get round to this for years!
My Instagram account, which has over 20,000 followers, only reaches about 12 people and a dog these days. And my blog probably doesn’t even get that many.
So I’ve finally created a newsletter and thought I’d pop up in your inbox instead.
My plan is to share my news* on a monthly basis.
*This might be too strong a term for a few pictures and a load of waffle. But I plan on sending it every month nonetheless.
The gist of it will be to share what I’ve been drawing ‘for fun’ in the previous month. It might develop into something else if I have a better idea later, but for now….
Stuff I drew this month…
So … I decided to join an insta challenge this month. To save my brain from having to think what to draw. Every week had 3 things beginning with B. Here are my favourites…
Week 3 was BUNNY BERRIES BASKET and week 4 was BUTTERFLY BOUQUET BUD.
I invented Betty Bunny…
And whizzed up a pattern collection…
In other “news” the weather hotted up and we had a few days out.
My beautiful niece had a brain tumour and needed emergency fixing by an amazing doctor in Kong Kong.
And I started learning Portuguese on Duolingo. For when I can afford a second home there.
Which isn’t yet.

About me…
I’m a children’s illustrator and surface designer from sunny Yorkshire in England. I’ve been freelance for 21 years. My illustrations and patterns have been decorating kids, their wardrobes, bedrooms, toys and books - all over the world - for all those years. If you’ve had a baby during the last 2 decades, chances are you’ve probably had one of my designs on something.
My days are spent mainly working on client briefs and my evenings are spent mainly drawing the stuff I really want to draw, with no deadlines and no-one asking for unicorns.
I have two kids and now they’re both away at university I seem to spend even more of my life drawing stuff. I should probably use the extra time I now have to go rock climbing or learning to knit or something. But.. comfort zones and all that. So my ‘news’ will mainly be what I’ve drawn in the last month. For now.
